Please help me raise $10,000 for Northwest Arkansas Heart Ball.
Five years ago, my doctor ordered a calcium scoring test which measures the amount of calcium in your body. Calcium can cause blockage in your arteries just like cholesterol. They like to see a score of 0 and get concerned when it is over 100. My score was over 2,000. They rushed me in for a heart cath, which showed that I was 95% blocked. I was a walking time bomb. A day later, I had quadruple bypass surgery.
After my open heart surgery, I became what we jokingly called Mercy Hospital’s poster boy for getting tested. I am proud to say that many people got tested because of my story.
To say I am grateful to the American Heart Association and Mercy Hospital would be an understatement. They saved my life.
